State Level Wildlife Week 2022 was inaugurated in Van Vihar National Park by Shri Ashok Barnwal, Principal Secretary, Forest Department, Madhya Pradesh. State Forest Development Corporation, Shri JS Chauhan, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) and Chief Conservator of Wildlife, Shri Aseem Shrivastava, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Production), Shri Chittaranjan Tyagi, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Development), Dr. Atul Srivastava, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Work Planning and Forest Land Records), Shri Rakesh Kumar Yadav, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Administration-1), Shri H.U. Khan, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Finance/Budget), Dr. Dilip Kumar, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, State Minor Forest Produce Association, Mr. Shubharanjan Sen, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife), Mr. Satyanand, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife), Smt. Rakhi Nanda, Conservator of Forests Social Forestry Circle Bhopal, Shri Alok Pathak, Forest Divisional Officer, Forest Division Bhopal, Shri SK Sinha, Assistant Director Van Vihar and other senior officers and retired forest officers and a large number of school teachers, students, parents and media persons were also present. Specially invited on this occasion Mr. Suhas Kumar, S.N. Principal Chief Conservator of Forests was also present. The program was conducted by Shri AK Khare, retired Deputy Conservator of Forests.
On the first day of the Wildlife Week, a painting competition was held in the Van Vihar Gallery. In the competition the topics were, “Wildlife of Van Vihar” for class one to five, “Natural beauty of forest” for class six to eight, “Our animals in an Ecosystem” ” for class nine to twelve , “My favorite eco-tourism site in Madhya Pradesh” for college students, and a differently abled participants any topic for their choice. About 1085 participants from about 59 educational institutions participated in the competition.
The Honourable Chief Guest and other guests started the Wildlife Week 2022 by making paintings at the venue. On this occasion, the sapphire tiger musket was unveiled by Shri Ashok Barnwal, Principal Secretary Forest and exhibition of wildlife photo competition, exhibition of Regional Natural Science Museum Bhopal on wildlife conservation and eco-tourism and Shri RK Gupta, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and The exhibition was inaugurated on the welcome of the Cheetah by the Head of Forest Forces.
Events of 02 October 2022
Bird Watching and biodiversity camp will be organized on 02.10.2022 from 6.00 am to 8.30 am as well as “Run for Cheetah” will be organized from 07.00 am to 09.00 am, which will start from gate no.2 of Van Vihar and end at Gate no 1 of Van Vihar through Bhadbhada , Depot Square, Smart City Square, Tribal Museum , Boat Club.
