Day 5 - State Level Wildlife Week 2022 in Van Vihar National Park
On 5th day of State Level Wildlife Week 2022, another Bird Watching and Biodiversity camp was organized today. In this program, about 34 participants of Excellence College and Truba College saw various species of birds, including Grey Hornbill, Tri-Colored Munia, Scaly Breasted Munia, Large Gray Babbler, Bronze Wind Jacana, Oriental Darter, Small Minivet. The participants also got excited to see Kingfisher, Laughing Dove, Night Heron, Little Carmorant, Spotted Dove, Woolly Necked Stork, Black Drongo, Green Bee Eater, White Breasted Water Hen and Pond Heron etc.
Dr. Surendra Tiwari, Dr. Sudesh Waghmare, Mr. Pradeep Tripathi, Dr. Sangeeta Rajgir and Mohd. Khalik and other officers/employees from Van Vihar and Forest Department were present. Director Van Vihar, Smt. Padmapriya Balakrishnan also graced the occasion. The program was conducted by Assistant Director Van Vihar Shri SK Sinha.
In other competitions under the State Level Wildlife Week 2022 today, a ‘Mehndi Competition’ was organized for the open category on the theme of “Wildlife” and “Palm Painting Competition” was also organized. There were 77 participants in Mehndi competition and 79 participants in palm painting. A debate competition for Teachers was also organized in the Vihar Vithika; located inside Van Vihar from 11.30 am on the topic “Conservation of Vultures is as important as Tiger”, in which 15 participants participated and expressed their views.
Events of 06 October 2022
Bird watching and biodiversity camp will be organized on 06.10.2022 at 6.00 am. Along with this, a creative workshop will be organized for school children for conservation awareness from 11.30 am to 2.00 am, in which clay modeling, paper craft making will be taught by subject experts.
