Under the State Level Wildlife Week 2022, a Bird watching and Biodiversity camp was organized at 6.00 am today. About 65 participants, including participants from Sam Girls College and V.N.S. saw different species of birds, which include Large Gray Babbler, Oriental Darter, Small Minivet, Spotted Dove, Laughing Dove, Gray Surprise, Little Carmorant, Purple Surprise, Night Haron, Common Ayora, Gray Hornbill, The participants got excited to see White Throated Kingfisher, Woolly Naked Stork, Bronzed Wind Jakana, Black Drongo, Greenp Bee Eater, White Breasted Water Hawn and Pond Heron etc.
Dr. Surendra Tiwari, Mr. AK Khare, Dr. Sudesh Waghmare, Dr. Sangeeta Rajgir and Mohd. Khalik and other officers/employees were present. Director Van Vihar Smt. Padmapriya Balakrishnan was also present on the occasion. The program was conducted by Assistant Director Van Vihar Shri SK Sinha.
As in today's other competitions, a college debate competition was organized in collaboration with World Nature Fund India on the topic “Development is the cause of environmental imbalance” in the Vihar gallery located at Van Vihar from 11.00 am, in which 32 participants participated.
Events of 05 October 2022
Bird observation and biodiversity camp will be organized on 05.10.2022 at 6.00 am. In the form of other competitions, henna competition on the theme “Wild Animal” for all age groups in Vihar Vithika, Van Vihar from 10.30 am to 12.00 pm and palm painting competition on “Wild Animal” theme from 12.30 pm to 02.00 pm. will be organized. Along with this, a teacher debate competition will be organized in the Vihar Gallery located at Van Vihar from 11.30 am on the topic “Conservation of vultures is as important as tiger conservation”.
