Bird watching and Biodiversity camp was organized today on 02.10.2022 under the State Level Wildlife Week 2022 organized in Van Vihar National Park. In this camp, about 135 participants including Youth Hostel, International Public School and general pubic interested in bird and environment observed different species of birds.
Prominent in which are Golden Oriole, Dudhraj, Egret, Meg Pie Robin, Bronze Wing Jakana, Kingfisher, Green Bee Eater, Tithari, Pond Heron, Red Munia, , Whisling Teals , Carmorant, Moor hen, Drongo, Silver Bill Munia etc. The participants got excited after seeing the butterflies like Grey Pansy, Common Evening Brown, Plain Tiger, Common Grass Yellow, Blue Tiger, Crimson Rose etc.
Shri AK Khare, Dr. Sudesh Waghmare, Dr. Surendra Tiwari, Dr. Sangeeta Rajgir, Mohd. Khalik and other officers/employees were also present. Especially in the said camp, Mr. JS Chauhan, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife), Mr. Satyanand, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife), Mrs. Padmapriya Balakrishnan, Director Van Vihar were also present. In addition, Mr. Vijay Srivastava, Assistant Forest Conservator, Dr. Atul Gupta, wildlife doctor and Dr. Rohan Shringarpure, in-charge Vulture Conservation and Promotion Center were also present. The program was conducted by Assistant Director Van Vihar Shri SK Sinha. On this occasion, Youth Hostel Lake City Unit adopted a Crocodile under Wildlife Adoption Scheme for one month.
